The house once belonged to Sir William Cockaine, a former Lord Mayor of London in 1619, and is mentioned in Hasted's history of Kent. Situated in a Sylvan setting with far reaching views across the valley, in a quiet area away from all the traffic. It overlooks a Kent trust nature reserve. You are assured of a wonderful warm welcome, and a full English breakfast with our own free range eggs etc. Excellent location for walking, cycling and exploring the surrounding areas. Lyminge Forest and Kent Nature Reserve both one mile. Access to the North Downs Way four miles. 18 hole golf course at Canterbury six miles, Howletts Zoo Park six miles, horse riding available at the local stables in the village.
By Car (from Canterbury):
- From Canterbury, take the B2068 following the signs towards Hythe.
- After 3 miles (5 km), turn right to Petham village, proceed through the village and turn left into Duckpit Lane by the BT telephone box, continue on for 1.5 miles (2.5 km).
- Turn right at Upper Ansdore (no through road), go to the end and then carry on up the private road to Upper Ansdore.
By Car (from the M20 motorway):
- From the M20 motorway, take the exit at junction 11 on to the B2068.
- After approximately 10 miles, turn left, following the signs towards Petham and then follow the above directions.
- From Canterbury, take the B2068 following the signs towards Hythe.
- After 3 miles (5 km), turn right to Petham village, proceed through the village and turn left into Duckpit Lane by the BT telephone box, continue on for 1.5 miles (2.5 km).
- Turn right at Upper Ansdore (no through road), go to the end and then carry on up the private road to Upper Ansdore.
